Reverend Blair Fields

Born in Virginia, Blair majored in Theology and Music at the University of Virginia. He then received his Masters of Divinity Degree at Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago, Illinois. Serving as an ordained pastor since June 1983 in Virginia, Indiana, and Kentucky, Pastor Blair has led the Hopeful family since 1996. Blair has been married to his wife Barb for 31 years. They have 3 grown children: Caitlin, Jeb, and Taylor.

Kelly Mongoven

Kelly was born and raised in Fort Myers, Florida. She has her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Florida State University and Master of Arts in Youth Ministry from Memphis Theological Seminary and the Center for Youth Ministry Training. Before accepting the call of Associate Pastor at Hopeful, Kelly worked as a social worker and served churches in Birmingham, Alabama and Fort Myers, Florida. In her spare time, Kelly enjoys yoga, hiking and watching The West Wing.

Judi Kretzmann

Born in Pennsylvania, Judi helped envision and create Hopeful's preschool, currently serving two-year old through pre-kindergarten children. Judi received her Early Childhood Education Director Certificate and CDA from Gateway Community College. Judi is married to Kurt Kretzmann and has 5 children: Joe, Sarah, Aaron, Gina, and Amy.

Debi Kennedy

Being a “military brat”, Debi has lived all over the U.S and Europe and has attended many different Missouri Synod Lutheran churches and schools. She met her husband Sean while attending Orange Lutheran High School in Orange, California. After graduating from Chapman University in Southern California with a B.A. in Social Sciences, she and her husband relocated for his job to the Northern Kentucky area in 2001 and are currently living in Hebron. They have 2 daughters, Caitlyn and Natalie.

John Meier

Born and raised in Independence, KY, John has been a lifetime member of Hopeful Lutheran Church being baptized, confirmed and married at Hopeful. He attended the University of Kentucky and graduated from Thomas More College in 1988 with a B.A. in Business Administration. John has worked in the financial services industry for over 30 years for local, regional, national, and international companies. In 1990, John married his wife Missy, an R.N. at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood. They have three grown children Bryce, Shelby, and Brit. John also serves on the Ministry Team.

Shelley Walters

Shelley Walters was born and raised in NKY. She grew up attending Baptist churches with her grandmother until she attended Hopeful Lutheran Church as an adult and quickly knew it was where she belonged. She is a Registered Nurse and employed at Tri-State Oral Surgery. Shelley is married to a lifelong member and ancestor of the founding members of Hopeful, Ryan Walters. They have 3 children Nolan (15), Sara (8), and Kinley (5). Shelley currently serves on the Youth and Family ministry team and teaches Sunday School and Children's Church. Shelley enjoys camping, gardening, traveling to any beach and watching her children plays sports.

Angie Bailie

Angie Bailie was born and raised in Greenville, Ohio, and graduated from Miami University. She married her college sweetheart, Jim Bailie, in 1982 and moved to northern Kentucky. The family started attending Hopeful in 1990, and have been active in many aspects of the church life. She has 3 grown sons: Sam, Mike, and Tom, as well as a daughter-in-law (Angela) and 2 granddaughters. After 36 years of teaching, Angie will be retiring at the end of the 2018 school year (big smile!).

Carla Donithan

Born in Dallas, Texas, Carla moved to Northern Kentucky in 1996.  She has been a member of Hopeful Lutheran Church for over 15 years. She and her husband Randall have five children and five grandchildren. Carla has an associate’s degree in para-professional education and works as an Account Executive for a global shipping company.  Carla has served on church council in the past and currently serves as Church Council Secretary.

Nichole Jackson

I was born in Cincinnati, OH but my dad joined the military, so I grew up having lived in several states as well as Germany. My dad's final base was in Ft. Walton Bch, Ll where I met my husband, Matt. In 2000, Matt and I moved to Cincinnati, where my family is from. In 2008, we moved to Florence, KY. We have 2 girls, Natalie (12) and Hailey (9). In 2010, we saw that Hopeful Lutheran Church had a VBS and signed Natalie up. We have been coming ever since. The girls and myself got baptized at Hopeful in 2014. I have taught Sunday School and VBS. I am the current Sunday School Director.

Heather Phelps

I am Heather Phelps I have been going to Hopeful for 5 years with my family. I was raised in Boone County and met my husband in Lexington during college while studying Graphic Design and Business Management. I later went back again and earned another degree in Medical Assistanting here in Northern Kentucky however, I currently stay at home homeschooling our children. Ben and I have been married for 12 years and have 5 children: Grace (11), Jack (8),Samuel (6),Penelope (4) and James (2). I love coaching sports especially soccer ,which I played for over 20 years, and Girls on the Run/Heart and Sole.

Josh Torres

Born in Gary, IN, Josh was raised in the Southern Baptist and Nazarene churches. In 1999, while in his freshmen year at Indiana University, Josh enlisted in the U.S. Army reserves as a Military Police Officer. He has served three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Coincidently, the Army led him to meet his wife, Rachel, in 2004 and they later wed in 2007. They found their Hopeful family in 2009. They were blessed with a son in 2010 and a daughter in 2012. Josh has served on the church council since January 2016 and serves on the Ministry Team.

Adam O'Loughlin

Born in North Vernon, IN, Adam grew up all over Kentucky--- Louisville, Ashland, and finally, NKY in 1998. He and his family have been coming to (and have been members of) Hopeful since they moved to town. Adam's faith and prayers have seen him through a difficult motorcycle accident in the fall of 2011. He attended the University of Kentucky and has been working for Graeter's for just over one year.

Bryant Hunger

Born in Madison, Indiana, Bryant was raised in Lutheran and Presbyterian Churches in southeastern Indiana. He graduated from Hanover College in 2010 with History and German degrees. It was in Hanover that he met his wife, Lisa, and in 2012 they were wed. He currently works for the Kentucky State Police as an Arson Investigator. They found their Hopeful Family in 2015 and were blessed with a daughter in 2016. Bryant has served on church council since January 2017 and serves on the Fiscal and Worship teams.

Cindy Rigsby

Originally from Peoria, IL, Cindy moved to Northern KY with her husband Terry in 2005. They have 3 kids, Ryan, Ross and Reese. She has attended Hopeful Lutheran Church since 2006. She graduated from University of Illinois with a degree in Business Management and currently works as a Business Manager for Wing Eyecare. She enjoys music, cooking and spending time with family. Cindy serves on the Worship Team.

Harold Dringenburg

Harold was born in his Grandfather Tanner's house in Florence, Kentucky, which stood in what is now the north bound lane of I-75 at Ky .18. He became a baptized member of Hopeful in September of 1935 and has attend Hopeful regularly ever since. Harold attended The University of Cincinnati evening College of Engineering. He first served on church council in 1958 and has served on the cemetery board continuously since 1959. Harold lives in Florence with his wife Nancy. He can share a lot of pleasant stories about his experiences at Hopeful and how they have helped him on his life’s journey.

Nolan Walters

Born in Hampton, VA, on the Langley Air Force base, Nolan moved to Northern Kentucky when he was three. Soon after, he began attending services at Hopeful and later graduated from Hopeful’s Preschool. Currently a student at Conner High School, Nolan plans to graduate and attend college before serving in the military. Nolan is a direct descedent of some of Hopeful’s founding members and is an 8th generation member of the church. He currently serves as the Youth Advisor to the church council.
